You may have noticed that The Wonky Spatula got a shiny new website a few weeks ago! A lot of thought and hard work has gone into the new improved site and I hope you like it as much as I do! My main goal was to create a better experience for all of you so that you can easily find my recipes and search for different ones you may not have come across before.
I have been planning a new site for the longest time, there are still a few bits and bobs to be added but to be honest I was so excited for you to see it that I decided to go live and add to these as they are ready. I really hope you like it, if you have any feedback or suggestions please do let me know as I want the site to be as useful for you guys as possible 🙂
In my first recipe post to the new site I mentioned that there would be new and exciting things to come, I’m working away in the background on some pretty cool projects the first of which is the launch of this all-new ‘blog’ section of my blog!
I plan to add a mix of posts – chatting through my day to day meals, favourite places to eat, workouts, etc! So be sure to keep an eye out for when these posts go live!
To begin with here are 5 random facts you may not know about me:
I am a total Crossfit addict and train 4-5 times a week. Heading to the box is my favourite part of the day, I love nothing more than putting my body to the test and challenging myself to improve on previous lifts and times. The best part of Crossfit is that it is you against you and it can be done practically anywhere. I train out of Crossfit353 in Dublin and I can honestly say that you will never come across a nicer bunch of people in your life, so if you are ever in the area be sure to stop by for a drop-in class!
The only food that I absolutely cannot stand is tuna, especially if it’s tinned – it gives me the creeps! I don’t really have any reasons why and I adore all other types of seafood so I suppose, it’s just one of those things.
I absolutely love musicals and love nothing more than going to see them in my spare time. When I was younger I did musical theatre and was in countless musicals & variety shows. My favourite role that I played was Glinda in Wicked with my best friend alongside me as Elphaba – I still have the pink dress!
Along with this, I have a seriously varied taste in music, having played classical violin for many years my Spotify ranges from Gerald Barry to the BeeGees to deep house – there could well be a playlist coming your way very soon 😉
If I had to choose an all-time favourite food I think it would take me weeks! My friends would most likely tell you that it is chicken wings with Frank’s red hot (you can find the recipe for them here) which would definitely be up there but I don’t know that I could single them out when there are so many other things that I love too! As a child cauliflower was my favourite food and is still to this day among my favourites – if you are a fan too you have got to check out my Sweet & Sticky Baked Cauliflower.
